It was 2021 and we just had the most successful season in the history of the program. Everyone around me was celebrating what we had just accomplished together. Instead of feeling happy and joyful, I remember feeling empty and lonely…
You see, up to that point I had spent my entire life obsessing over what it is that the very best do differently than everyone else. My 20+ year career inside the world of high performance was dedicated to mastering the skillsets and strategies needed to generate extraordinary results for myself, my teams and the people I worked with. I was always pushing the bar higher and higher, and working harder and harder thinking that when I have enough success or recognition then I will finally be happy.
…On that day in 2021 when I should have been celebrating, I instead was asking myself: Is this all there is?
Something was missing...
What I realized that day is you can have everything you have ever wanted but still feel empty inside. In that moment I achieved what I wanted, but what was missing was I was not fulfilled.
I had a moment of insight, which is a moment in life when EVERYTHING changes. My insight was that as high-achievers, if we succeed without experiencing fulfillment then that is the ultimate failure.
That was the day I decided to design a community of extraordinary people committed to experiencing life at a level very few ever attain.
